Quick question:
Anyone been getting odd calls as of lately? After hearing what happened with Rino, I closed the call the moment heard the music start. Apparently someone's going around and calling people, only to play this particular track after you pick up the call.
what song?
Yeah, it's usually work though. :P
I'm seriously considering writing a very stern passive aggressive letter to whoever does the mixed cd's for our on-hold music.

Wasn't anything to do with hold music. We have this call coming in and it was the rick roll'd song.
Use *67, get the number, and file a complaint with Telus and/or their carrier if they keep calling. If they do it three times, they can be blocked.

That or note the date and time, then wait for my bill to come in. If I remember, it costs to *67 a recent phone number, and even then, it may not always work, they could have it blocked anyways.
*67 blocks your number when you make a call. You're thinking of *69
Right *69, my mistake.
You can also ask to not accept blocked numbers too. It costs on your bill, though, like $5 more a month, but they can put it on.
Some /b/rother is clearly bored again.
Save Rick Rolls for the internet... and the last day of high school, my friend Alan Rick Roll'd the whole school over intercom for his last day.
You all should be thankful it wasn't the person in Surrey prank calling businesses in North Van to turn on their sprinklers:

The person is most likely using Skype on a computer on a fake number so blocking wouldn't help.
I read about that in the paper yesterday! Apparently he was calling places outside of the province as well.
Wow, your playing a rick roll over the phone. How....not creative or stress causing in anyway -_-.
Oh wow..
I think I got it this morning. My phone rang at 8:40AM and the number just read "Withheld". Clear sign of a fake number, possibly reserved by something like SkypeOut.
Who knows, it may be a script on a computer running Skype that's just doing this one number at a time.
And yes, VoiP calls made by computers without human aid are possible. Just read "Daemon" by Daniel Suarez and you'll see how much more machines can do nowadays.
Yes Yes we all know what machines can do.

Yes Yes we all know what machines can do.
Just look at the plot synopsis of "Daemon":
"When a designer of computer games dies, he leaves behind a program that unravels the Internet's interconnected world. It corrupts, kills, and runs independent of human control. It's up to Detective Peter Sebeck to wrest the world from the malevolent virtual enemy before its ultimate purpose is realized: to destroy civilization..."
Anyways, we've gone completely off-topic... :P
Machines can also do this :3
