: Telus vs Sony; The NAT type war
: Van_Fox January 21, 2011, 12:07:03 -07:00
Ok, Im seriously F**king pissed about this. For those of you who own a PS3, you probably know or should know your NAT type for your connection. Type 3 is the one you dont want, which limits your connectivity on some games. Type 2 is a open gateway that allows you to play all online games without a hitch. Mine is stuck on Type 3, and ive tried everything. I even had a back and forth with Telus and Sony and its gotten my nowhere. The telus guy said I might need to change my internet package and theres no way in hell that im gonna hafta pay to get this Nat thing settled. I payed 300$ for my ps3 and I deserve a well playable online experience. I doubt anyone here with a PS3 and Telus knows how to help me here, I just wanted to express my anger >_<

Did you try turning off your media server sharing?

I have a PS3 on Telus and that helped.

Check your router. Many routers have a way to change the Nat type.
