This actually is my Desktop, I never have my desktop icons showing, my quick launch and taskbar are set to auto-hide at all times.
The Image is of the Great Old One Azathoth. I can't remember the name of the Artist who did this though.
I use minimal desktop icons. I used a few more when I had a 19" CRT, but not anymore. At work, I have dual 21" WS monitors. No icons, but I doubt the height of my task bar so I can have one row of Quick task and one row of active applications.

SexDolphin is also on my Ipod, Cellphone and many other things.
It was a inside joke on this game called "Maplestory". I know. I was young when I played this. It had a hacked version. In Maplestory there is this Dolphin, which I forget the name of, but it takes you to towns. In the hacked version it has the same dolphin but it's called "SexDolphin" and he always asks "want to take a ride on me".
So my friend and I kind of used the name for kicks. It's stuck ever since. c:

If you mean in regard to having the wallpaper span monitors, it's actually no harder in XP than it is in Win7: you just need to get a sufficiently-large image and set the mode to "tile". I do it on my XP work machine.
As for the actual dual-monitor setup, that's not too bad in XP either. Just gotta arrange the displays appropriately and set it to extend.
I thought I'd try a new thing for desktop. Windows does have native support for widgets... but... they're not as good...

It's not much at all, I like really clean desktops. I use Rocket Dock which isn't that great but it does what I want it to and keeps everything organized.

Ohhh, that's wicked Nibi. I've always had a thing for colonized planetoids/moons. As well as futuristic cities juxtaposed in natural landscapes... *drools*
I use a handful of this guy's (http://epicloot.blogspot.ca/) stuff and rotate through it on my Windows installation on my laptop, which is all relevant to the latter bit I mentioned.

Here's what I'm using in Ubuntu on my tower right now. I thoroughly dislike watermarks but I can understand their necessity, and this artwork is just too awesome to ignore for a couple watermarks. In Windows I just use a bunch of random crap; since I do homework/programming in Linux I feel more inspired to boot that up and do work when I have a better looking wallpaper. :V

Yeah, it's set to change backgrounds every couple of minutes and it's usually going through my alien/space folder. XD

Well, the Dell laptop died a watery death. But thanks to the generosity of one TJBlueVulpine, or rather just because he wanted it out of his damn house, I'm now the proud owner of a ten-year-old Dell OptiPlex Gx270. For an antique, it's pretty awesome. Hyper-threaded P4 at 2.8Ghz, 2Gb of memory, and an nVidia GeForce 4 MX440 (one of the fastest half-height AGP cards to be found). Sounds like a no-go, right?
