One big thing I like to do is travel. It's expensive, it drains all my money, but it's worth every penny in my eyes. I was just curious to know if there are any other people who love to travel. Traveling is in my blood and I feel like there's something missing when I don't have a trip planned within a specific timeframe. *dork*
I love traveling to random states in the USA. I've been to Tennessee twice in the last four months (I just got back two weeks ago), California (LA), Texas, (Dallas), Minnesota, random places in Canada. I've also been to Italy (Verona/Mantova) (I run a website for a singer that lives there and she invited me to visit in 2006) and to England. I'm probably going to be heading to New York sometime in the summer... but only if I can find one of those air + hotel sales. I'll be going to visit a friend who is suffering from cancer... we were suppose to go traveling to Europe this fall but he was diagnosed this month so I'm just going to go visit him.
So... post here if you travel or would love to travel - and share your stories!! :D
I would love to someday... but cannot...
I certainly love to travel. Mostly for conventions. I'm finding myself able to make more and more trips every year. It's nice. There are some places that I go every year (for cons) Like California and Seattle. Other places I will be going to this year for my first time will be Pennsylvania for AC and a trip to Palm springs with my parents. As time goes on, I would love to travel to further conventions like Eurofurrance in Europe. I have gone to Montreal before to visit family over there. Was very unlucky cause it was during winter at the time. I've always wanted to do a cross Canada train trip and my all time favorite, a trip to Japan. Call me typical white guy but I've always wanted to go there. Maybe even time that trip for the fur con that happens there.

Seattle! *duh* I've been there many times, too. XP
I usually use conventions as my excuse to go travelling... I went to MTAC (mtac.net) the beginning of this month. I haven't been to any fur cons yet... but I'd love to. Unfortunately, doesn't look like I'll be making it to any of those this year.
I was heartbroken I couldn't go to Sakuracon this month, but unforutnately it was on the day after I got back from Tennessee and I couldn't take any more time off work. I had a ride / place to stay too. Sucky!
I'd love to go to Japan, but honestly I usually travel alone and I don't know anyone in Japan, so I wouldn't want to go. I am too afraid that I'd get lost or something hah. I have a bunch of friends in California that organize group trips there, but they stay for weeks on end and have rich parents supporting their visits. Maybe one day, when money is right. It would be an amazing experience, though. I'd totally go to a club where they dance ParaPara and soak in that atmosphere. That's definitely on my 'to do' list.

Oh nice. Sign me up ^^
Ive traveled! ... all around BC! XD
This makes most people cringe for whatever reason, but i wont lie: ive never really 'been' outside of BC. Heres my history of international travel:
- Went to a family reuinion in Alberta for a Day when i was 6 or 7
- Went to West Ed Mall for 5 hours, when i was 7
- Went to Washington (just over the border) for 3 hours to go grocery shopping (was in Osoyoos visiting my Uncle). Also when i was a mere lad.
This is quite literally, all my travel XD But ive been everywhere from Prince George to Vancouver and everywhere inbetween lol
Who doesn't like to travel?
I travelled all over BC as a kid. And that was about it until just a few years ago. My sister loves to travel, and landed a job in the Carribean as a diving instructor. Since I could go stay with her for free and all I needed was a ticket, I jumped on it!! It was a lot of fun, and we were totally hooked up. Got to stow away on island cruises etc for free, learned the local secret handshake (for real).
After that, nothing major until South Africa last year. OMFG, that may very well have been the most amazing experience I'll ever have in my life! It has certainly wet my appetite! I'm dying to go back and tour more of Africa. Some parts of the middle east would be cool to see to, or South America. And of course I should see some of Europe at some point, heh. Basically, the more different the place, the better!
I've been to a fair bit of western Canada (BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan) and the US (Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, California, Nevada, and Arizona). I also went to Quebec in 1993, the UK in 2003, and Mexico last December. Still have a lot of places I want to go some day, though - Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Africa, and the rest of Europe to name a few.
I think my favorite place so far has been Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - Katherine and I were down there for a week with my parents. Beautiful weather, friendly people, nice beaches, amazing (and cheap) food. We're hoping to go again maybe in the winter/spring of 2010 sometime. Maybe during the Olympics, since we'd kind of like to be anywhere but here.
If you ever go to Vallarta, try taking the public buses. We got a sermon in Spanish one morning from a guy strumming on a guitar.
Most of my travel's been on work over the last three years. They've shipped me all over the place. I don't have a lot of time to connect with people, unfortunately.
Notably, I wound up in southern China in late 2007 for a few days, and in central England for two trips. (I really need to go back to England on my own time - I plan to some time this year, as I need to use my freuqent-flyer miles before they die.)
I've also been to Florida, California, Illinois numerous times, Vegas three times (I play poker, and actually like Vegas - which is why they haven't sent me there for a while), the high desert of Utah (Bonneville Salt Flats, fascinating trip), New Orleans, Memphis... and a bunch of other places that weren't nearly as interesting.
If nothing else, I've gotten good at packing! *g*

Illinois numerous times,
I can't believe I forgot Illinois! XD; I've been there a few times myself.
Besides Alberta, Saskatchewan. and places in B.C. i have traveled to Disneyland, when i was about 7? but i LOVE trips, mainly driving though, i love going through the rockies, do it about 4-5 times (both ways) each year and i love it so much, its usually to go to Calgary, and now that i have my own wheels and am almost out of school i will be able to travel wherever i want, and i plan on going lots of places!
yeah, I love to travel quite a lot.
been all over
australia, cyprus, all over the middle east, egypt, lebanon, south africa (capetown), england, ireland, scotland, france, spain, sweden, india, denmark, new zealand...
I'd love to visit the US someday, hopefully for some con or something.
edit: oh forgot Thailand, Maldives, Sri Lanka, Malaysia and Germany
I've been to England, France, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Mexico and the Bahamas.
I've also been to Quebec and Alberta, as well as Washington, California and Florida.
I have been in California, washington of the USA. Lima Peru and Santiago/La Serena Chile.
I have also been as far north as Smithers. and most of vancouver Island. I would suggest that you check out Coombs, should you ever find yourself for Port Alberni. You will understand once there.
Oh, I spent a bunch of summers in and around Smithers, Terrace and Kitimat. That's a great area.
I've apparently been all over the north american continant when I was too young to remember. Including Disney World. I have pictures, but I really don't remember.
I grew up in a small town called Hudson Bay, SK. The entire town consisted of jocks, and homophobia types. Also, if you didn't hear a story in 5 minutes, you made one up. There were all kinds of bad stories going around about me, that everyone believed, because everyone talked about it. I hated it so much.
I do remember going to the states every summer, we'd spend a night in Minot, ND and then spend two weeks in Bismark, in a Motel 6, which happened to have a pool. I was heavy into swimming back then, however these days I've been in a pool maybe 4 times in the past 8 years....
Then one year we started going to Edmonton, to visit one of my sisters. The other sisters all kinda piled up into that area, Edmonton, Lloydminister, Sylvan Lake. (I have 6... two of them were in BC the whole time.)
Then the parents died, and my travelling became moving... I lived in Sylvan Lake with one of my sister's, trying to finish school, but I couldn't stand being around her abusive boyfriend. My parents were actually pretty quiet, if they fought, they kept it away from me, and they were together until they both died off. I wasn't used to it, so I persued an internet relationship and moved to Spokane for a few months... I eventually had to come back to Canada to take care of legalities, and I wound up staying here, in BC.
I've since been to the UK, and I've flown back to Sylvan Lake a couple times, and I've visited the island. I've also been up to St. Agnes Well and Stave Lake. Bonfire cooking is da bomb. :3
As a resident wanding fox, lets see what I can contribute...
I was all over the country and some of the northern states as a kid, but that doesn't reall count, does it? ;)
On my third week on the job at Kodak, when I was 20, I was flown across country to Rochester, NY for a week of corperate bullshit... that was my first travel experience as an adult, my first trip on a plane. It made me crave more.
Shortly after, I visited Montreal and NYC on the same trip over the course of two weeks, those two weeks having a very large impact on myself.
A little bit later, I went to Washinton DC and went on a road trip with a wonderful gent up the east coast and back, got trapped in a blizzard during part of it... awesome trip
then at 21 I quit the kodak job, bought a backpack, and wandered most of canada and a fair bit of the states... highlights including...
Seattle, Portland, Kamloops, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Regina, Saskatoon, Thunderbay, Toronto (<3), Ottawa, Montreal, Pitsburg (AC, WOOO), Detroit, Chicago, Boston, Maine, NYC, Washinton DC.
Went to most of these places more than once :) Fucking awesome 4 months
And, yeah... lots of stories from these trips.
I'm 22 now, my eye on the world, and pondering maybe making another run at it...
I've been to Smithers as well - skiing, a few years ago. One of our skiing days got cut short due to winds so fierce that you could barely breathe while sitting on the chairlift without a hand over your mouth. The rest of the trip was good, though!
Well lets see for me it is a very short list. I have been to Mt. Baker in Washington, Anaheim California Disney Land, and Los Vegas Navada and that is about it for me for out of the country. For in country I have been to Vernon (Every year I think), Nelson, Osoyoos, Kamloops, Kelowna. Though me and a few friends are planing to go on a trip to Japan sometime in a couple of years when we have the money.
I love to travel close by or faraway roadtrips traintrips hiking trips plan trips I really need to get further out I have been to the western states and some westish ones and bc alberta saskatchewan but that's it I plan to go to Montral at some point to visit with Delmir once he is there cuz we'll all miss him and I have a nice plan to go to Paris for christmas but no one wants to come with me so *tongue wags*. I really wanna do some camping on the island this spring summer fall and also to go to Ainsworth Hotsprings(theyz gots caves!!) and the Cody Caves nearby.
