well I'm looking for 2-3 roomies, kinda wanna make it cheaper because I heard Van is pricey
depends where you look really. prices vary
why in vancouver? can be rather pricey
burnaby is right in between the van and surrey and not to pricey same with New Westminster
All the places mentioned above are a lot cheaper than Vancouver is. Especially downtown Vancouver. Frio and I just moved to Surrey, and it's pretty awesome so far. Living in a house full of furries is pretty amazing.
I wanna be close to the US, so Vancouver is like...right there
Surrey or Whiterock is the best bet if you want to be close to the US actually. Take it from someone who frequents it.

agree, my place the doghouse is in surrey. Makes it easy for us to get to the states
Too bad your plan to move is far away.. I would have offered you a spot here in Surrey.

It is of course a good idea to look at a map of the city you plan to move to before actually moving to it. . .
:-\
There are numerous municipalities south of Vancouver lining the border to the states.

vancouver is at least an hour drive to the border if the traffic isnt bad.
That doesn't make it geographically closer to the border than other towns.

Use google maps, it'll show all these pesky townships. Also the whole not driving thing dosen't mesh well with locations close to the US as transit tends to get sparse out there, also where's school?
Hi Rave Fox,
In these situations it's best to give people more of an idea of the situation you are looking for.
What is your monthly budget? Do you have pets? Do you mind pets? Allergic to anything? Noisy hobby?
And maybe some general details about yourself would be good too!
Hope this helps.
Oh, and for some reason whenever someone mentions moving to Vancouver, the same "Move to this city instead!" topic comes up.
They are correct about Surrey being closer to the border, however.
Also, "Vancouver" means something different to people living here, as opposed to someone moving here from faraway. To a local, it means the City of Vancouver, whereas to non-locals, it usually means the Metro Vancouver area (formerly, the Greater Vancouver Regional District), or even the Fraser Valley or Lower Mainland.
So it's pointless arguing that Surrey is closer to the border, when the poster meant the Metro Vancouver area as a whole being close to the border.
