: Fresh tunes that rock your socks!
: Digipig April 13, 2009, 03:40:47 -06:00
We all love our classics, I know I do but I also enjoy the thrill of discovering and collecting fresh new traxx and being a DJ you know that's a practically daily routine for me. I'll post five tracks which are currently rocking my foxy socks.

Bob Sinclar feat Master Gee and Wonder Mike - La La Song

Been a couple years since anything from Bob Sinclar has really wowed me. Really good summer party tune. I really like the Guy Schriener Remix the best, due to the Outlander sample. (I'll edit this once somebody posts that remix on youtube)

Stefano Prada & Stevie S- Axel F

A new twist of the classic Axel F theme reworked for an '09 dancefloor. Funny even though it's a remix, it still sounds as fresh as it did back in the 80's. Plus it'll help wash away the horrible memories of crazy frog from a few years ago.

Richard Grey - Bassline

Funky disco house seems to be a dying breed these days but luckily we got this little gem to spice things up a bit. A can pitcure a whole floor of fursuiters dancing to this. Also nice spin on the Alex Brake track from 10 years ago.

Sander Van Doorn VS Robbie Williams - Close My Eyes

Nice vocals from Robbie Williams and nice soothing organ make this a nice little somber dance floor hit. Very spacey and epic to boot.

Richard Grey & Erick Morillo feat Shaunee Taylor - Close Your Eyes 2008

This is the 'it' diva house record right now, it came out as a speed garage tune a couple years ago but it's back with a new sound that reminds me of classic Erick Morillo or George Morel. Yes back in the day when records had actual simple synth melodies. Nice 1.

Bah - I was going to post a link to a pretty sweet electro house set that a friend and coworker of mine did, but the hosting site appears to be down. He goes by Dave Dirk and does some shows around here.

Funny I know who that is. I met him years and years ago at the now defunct Palladium club

That's cool. He was a floor above me during my last couple semesters in rez at SFU, and we're now working for the same company.

Time for another fresh tunes post.

Daniel Bovie & Roy Rox - Love Me

String house seems to be hot again. For those who don't know I mean violin stabs that were a huge part of house music in the early 90's. Anyway this is a nice little tune with a great riff.

Uberfett - El Zoomah

Another sound which has been hot lately in dance is the accordion sound made popular by Samin - Heater back in 2007. This is a nice little tunes perfect for a sunset beach party, if fact we should have one this summer!

Here's some more fresh tunes I'm rocking right now. I have a feeling more than a few of these will turn out to be huge summer hits for '09.

Yass - When Doves Cry

A nice cover of the well known song from Prince. Lots of Pianos and such and all housed up, totally ideal for a fursuit dance.

Yass - When doves cry (Yass Main Mix) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lXSHicQC130#lq-lq2-hq)

Inaya Day - Reap (Redsoul Remix)

Peaktime diva house at its best! Inaya Day does a nice reworking of the Vernessa Mitchell classic and adds a nice catchy bassline hook that spells floorfiller. A nice organ "ceiling" adds a layer of atmosphere to the track.

Seoul 한국 (Inaya Day - Reap) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lzWDW8FxoyM#ws-lq-lq2-hq-vhq-hd)

DJ Demarko - Drop A House (Razor N Guido Remix)

A nice rough jam featuring a reworking of the Urban Discharge track that was later reworked by The Tamperer. The track is now rougher and with the attitude amped up creating a very danceable mix that will rock any venue.
God I sound like a record reviewer, I should be getting paid for this!

DJ Demarko Ft. Heather Leigh West - Drop A House (Razor & Guido Radio Remix Edit) Club House Video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ILZmcO4xUvo#lq-lq2-hq-vhq)

Dennis Ferrer - Sinfonia Della Note

A nice deep house mix with nice soft string stabs and a sweet piano hook. This is really my kind of thing though it's not always good for the sets because alot of people don't see it as "fast" or "hard" enough. A shame too since I really like tracks like this.

Barflyz - I Can't Help Myself (WTF Mix)

Something a little more silly and to the point. The sugary vocals are ideal for fursuit dancing while the organ riff is something right up my alley.

THE BARFLYZ - CANT HELP MYSELF (WTF!? MIX) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DsUYKQpufjA#lq-lq2-hq)

I feel it's time for a fresh new slice of dance seeing as Rainfurrest is just around the corner.

Gramophonedzie Why Don't You Original Mix (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QRlB7s8aX0A#normal)

Gramaphonedzie - Why Don't You

A nice remix of an old song by Peggy Lee, was also sung by Jessica Rabbit. Making a dance remix of a 1940's song seems illogical but somehow the cut up method seems to work here. It's so awkward and odd I can't help but love it for it's novel appeal.

Bingo Players Vs Chocolate Puma - Disco Electrique (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=copVg5EY2ys#normal)

Chocolate Puma & Bingo Players - Disco Electrique

This is without a doubt the booty shaking song of the summer, the latest in handbag house and really good peaktime music. Repetitively simple beat structure with just a kick drum and a catchy organ bassline.

Viani Dj, Veerus & Maxie Devine Feat Janice Robinson - Dreamer 2009 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gb56WB3Zl4w#normal)

Veerus & Maxie Devine - Dreamer 2009

Speaking of handbag house, one of the greatest handbag anthems gets remixed in a nice tribal style rhythm. Simple pop house music at it's best.

Grant Nelson - Brave New World (Original Mix) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o5QyrVIxoyw#normal)

Grant Nelson - Brave New World

And now it's time for a feel good house tune, more suited to sitting on a patio and sipping an iced tea rather that dancing in a hot sweaty nightclub. Nice piano line makes this an instant classic!

Walterino Feat. Michael Clifford & Kaysee - Go Bang (Alfred Azzetto Classic Mix) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zuvCbXLcAao#normal)

Walterino - Go Bang

Another summertime house tune ideal for a beach party, sexy vocals and basslines are great as well as nice string celings.
