I've heard that some of you have this epicly punny and fun game, I'm wondering if anyone is interested in having a meet of a) Royal Suite-ness, b) Marvelous Map-trapping and c) Other-Worldly Adventure(Using the Portal, GlADoS not included)

Dragon Quest 9 can be summed up as being Final Fantasy with a lot more humor(and puns) and a slime mascot instead of a chocobo.  It's a good game for what you pay for, and as always the post-game content is a lot more involved than the pre-game, funny how that works.

Everyone, go pick it up when you can!! :3

My coworker just grabbed this for me today.  $30 at Costco!  Heard nothing but good things about DQ, so I hope it's as good as it's reported to be.

Once I figure out how it works, play a little, I'll probably share my WFC code.

Now if I could just find the charger for my DS ...

oh man, finally being able to link up to someone on DQ9 seems almost like a dream,
considering how I can never figure out how to connect my DS online...

have you finished it? Trying to deal with second last boss. Sorry if diverging from topic, but sure. it'd be interesting, but need help connecting

I'm just before the lsat of the Gore-Lieutenants.  I have a Minstrel, Priest, Mage and Warrior, and I get blown away every time.  But I'm putting in a few hours grinding alchemy to buy the DQVC stuff.  All in all I must say ... I really hate how much this is Grind Quest IX and not a decent RPG.  But I will beat the main game story, and probably the tower or whatever, but after that I'm done.  Much rather redo Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy 6 then spend more time on DQ.

Alchemy is definately a great way to go... especially if you take a little time to do the random dungeons and keep getting the free alchemy materials...

I guess I like grind games because of all the extra content, that's why I like Disgaea so much... But technically most RPGs involved grinding from time to time

I'm playing the new Golden Sun... that's totally not a grind mind you...

I'll go on the record as being totally addicted to this game.  I got it last summer and it was only a few weeks ago that I stopped playing on a near-daily basis.  After you beat the game, there's basically unlimited grinding on bosses, grottos, and classes.

Yep yep... one of the better time-sink games out there... next to the Disgaea series... DQ 9 even has a "Re-vocate" system that's like Disgaea's Reincarnation... Of course Dragon Quest Joker was also like that with fusions/grinding monsters
