: Salmon Arm
: ShayneBear August 26, 2010, 03:44:34 -06:00
I'm looking into going up to Salmon Arm for a 3 month period so I can take a dog training course.

What's it like up there? What towns/cities are nearby, and where would I be most likely to find pet-friendly accomodation? what's the job market like? would I be able to find part time work if needed, be it in town or in a nearby area? what are typical prices for rent?

also, if anyone wants to come with me and be my room mate for 3 months....

Lets see, where to start...

Well, Salmon arm is pretty close to Kelowna and Vernon, which are a bit bigger than us. Most people are very friendly, but we have more than our share of weirdos and drug-abusing teenagers. The job market isn't so good. You may have troubles with finding a job.

As for accommodations... well, I've looked around for ya, but no luck. I'd love to have you stay with me, but my parents wouldn't approve. Sorry.  :(

thanks for the info!

it sounds like i'm not going to be there long enough to warrant finding a job. phew!

weirdos and druggie teens, eh? sounds like Langford! ;D no big, haha

thanks for looking for me. i won't be there til probably early spring, but if anything turns up, let me know!

I'd love to meet for coffee or something when i'm there though, if you feel like it. ;D
