: Wait a second....
: Kell August 13, 2010, 11:05:14 -06:00
I WOKE UP UN SURREY!

Well, isn't that just wonderful... Last thing I remember I'm in a pub having a pint, and then I wake up in surrey! I moved here! I don't know when, but all my stuff is here, it seems I have room mates and... I don't know... that was some DAMN good beer.

So... I guess... hello people? I woke up in the surrey, so I may as well say Hi and find out if there are any (I know your out there!) Vancouver area furs worth chattin with, maybe some events around here going on? I lived in BEAUTIFUL Salmon Arm until this... so although I enjoyed one of the nicest lakes ever and what I think might be the nicest camping on the planet, I have been left high and dry for some good, old fashioned, furry get togethers!

Anyway, just saying Hi, really. So if anybody wants to say Hi back, reply, or I guess contact me on MSM (Reidc.wallace@hotmail.com) or yahoo (Kell_Iroya@yahoo.com), cause... this bunny loves to chat!

Hi Kell! I am new here too. I used to live in Surrey. The last place there I lived was in Guildford Mews on 105th Ave, by the library and mall. Do you know it?
: Re: Wait a second....
: Kell August 13, 2010, 11:33:16 -06:00
Nope!

I know I live somewhere within walking distance of an Ihop which ISN'T open at 4am and a TD bank. But since I got here less than a week ago, I hardly know the area right around my place, let alone landmarks. :P

: zenia August 13, 2010, 11:44:33 -06:00
lol Do you at least know what street you live on? XDD
: Re: Wait a second....
: Kell August 13, 2010, 11:48:24 -06:00
Yeah, 81a Ave. That is the limit of what I know! Well, not entirely, but sometimes it feels like it. :P
: Re: Wait a second....
: zenia August 14, 2010, 12:07:41 -06:00
Not too far from where I grew up then. That is one of the things I liked about Surrey. Since the streets are numbered, you can kind of figure out where other people are just based on how their street number relates to yours. XDD

Do you know the Sheraton (or however it is spelled) and the car lot that has that HUUUUUUGE flagpole and Canadian flag? I lived right around there. :) Of course, I moved before the Sheraton existed there.

I think I know the area ya mean, yeah. I am growing to like this place more as I live here, big for my tastes in a lot of ways, but god, after 19 years in a town that rolls up its sidewalks at sunset, its a darn nice change!

I just looked over your OP again. Salmon Arm huh. What was it like there?

I moved from Surrey to Qualicum Bay. Qualicum Beach is a quaint little town (though everything closes at like, 6 and dosen't open on Sunday)... but I lived like 15-20 minutes north of there where there was NOTHING. It was a huge shock to go from a busy city to the boondocks. I have slowly made my way to Nanaimo which is a nice place. Not too big for me like Surrey, but not slow like Qualicum. I just wish the bus system was better here. lmao

That place is awesome. I used to love going there.

Salmon Arm was, and is, and will be, a tourist trap. It is were rich ass Albertans with too much money to blow on beer come to make noise and crash boats. It WAS a logging town, till the soft wood lumber BS shut the mill down, and now it is kept alive 3 months of the year by tourists, and the rest of the year by old ladies visiting coffee shops. Its the sort of town where the late show at the movies is at 7pm and the bars kick ya out at 11. It grows WAY too much dope, and is full of old hippies. Its highschool is broken in so many ways I could write a book on the subject and only somebody from there can properly understand how horrible it is. Wonderful place to visit, Hell to grow up in.

So, long story short, I free! :D

And Hey Hadlock!

Wait, Wavepool? Brb, going on a wavepool hunt.

-edit-

Nevermind... forgot its midnight... curses.

There is a Dennys just down the road that IS open at 4am! :P Hello and welcome! I live in Langley (20 min east of you) but venture into Surrey more frequently these days.

Nice to meet ya Mediar. I ended up finding food no problem at like 4am... I was just shocked and insulted when I saw that the Ihop, normally the staple of midnight booze/pancake runs, was closed! at 9pm!

It broke a part of my heart...

: mediar August 14, 2010, 12:50:00 -06:00
IHOP is crumby too IMO, Dennys is much better.

Hello fellow Surrey furry.  I have never lived anywhere else but here.  Surrey is about as mundane and plain as they get, but if you look beneath the surface you can find a few worthwhile reasons to get around.  Surrey is so unassuming they could hide Hollywood celebrities here and nobody would notice.
: Re: Wait a second....
: Kell August 14, 2010, 12:54:47 -06:00
I hate both, but I'm not picky at 4am.

Nice to meet you. I am a fellow Surrey Fur as well. :3 Hope you enjoy the city and have fun here in the fur community. :D

Like all true bunnies, I welcome pounces!

Blue

Your... within a few blocks of me, I know that much, not sure how many, but I walk past that park to get to the bus every day.

I'd love to hang out with anybody! Going  suddenly from spending all my time with friends to having A roommate and knowing nobody has been a bit of a... had change... But, as I am currently unemployed, broke, and don't know my way around this place to save my life, my options are limited.

Hey Kell! Quite the awesome trip you made, hey? I've done that once or twice before, but never actually moved anywhere. Just woke up in places I didn't know. Rough times.

Fun times for you though! I feel your pain about the IHOP. Nanaimo is a town where they roll up the sidewalks at 6pm, and 9pm if you're lucky on Fridays and Saturdays. I didn't know the true extent of this until I tried to get a pizza at 11pm on a Tuesday night. A nigh impossible task. Not sure about the bars, I don't typically frequent them. I didn't think anything on the Mainland closed before 11pm. :) Guess I was wrong.

ANYways, welcome!

Hey, I live in Salmon Arm! I have no plans on leaving, but perhaps some strong beer could convince me.  :P

Howdy!

A SALMON ARM FURRY?!?!

May I ask where abouts you live, and your age group? Just so I know why I never heard of you before.

And if you were in highschool recently... I might know ya!
: Re: Wait a second....
: StickyTheDragon August 25, 2010, 08:21:49 -06:00
I'm actually still in high school. I live up the hill from SASS.
: Re: Wait a second....

Poor bastard, worst school system on earth in that town... And only a couple of teachers worth attending the classes of...

I fled as fast as I could. :P
: Re: Wait a second....
: StickyTheDragon August 26, 2010, 10:06:47 -06:00
It IS the worst school system ever, isn't it? Yeah, I'm sure that me attending there has a lot to do with my depression.
: Re: Wait a second....
: Kell August 26, 2010, 05:26:28 -06:00
If you take any programing classes, or computer classes at all, try to get in on the 1337 trip with Ms. Mac. It was the highlight of two years of my time in highschool, and she is one of the coolest teachers I have ever known to boot.

And bug her about grilled cheese sandwiches, if you keep that joke running with her, you will have done the grad class of 09s nerds a huge honour.
