Don't see it. No. Seriously. I didn't listen to the reviews. :( Everything you possibly liked about the show is gone. No Jet, King Boumi, everyone's name is pronounced wrong, and I could go on. And if you haven't even watched the show, it's a bad movie overall.
This is a cautionary taaaale. A boombox show license is not a toooy!
I think a different director should of made the movie. I haven't seen Airbender yet, however I have watched all of the episodes in the anime. The characters that arn't shown might be shown in the future movies of Airbender? I think there are rumors going on about more Airbender movies. But I can only assume that the first movie would be related to Book 1: Water of the Avatar series, and the next movie could be related to the Earth chapter. I just hope that it is a good movie when I see it. No one better spoil it for me!
I really hope if they do end up making book 2 and book 3 into movies....that they either get a different director or make the movie longer. In my opinion, the movie severely suffers due to the editing and rushed 1:30 running time. It's a 2:30 movie, bare minimum.
It's just disappointing how such a good series got translated onto big screen so poorly. Even mono wasn't given proper justice...
Ugggh... such a bad movie. I hated how they pronounced "Ang" and "Avatar". It was more of a "Ah" sound =_= it bugged me. The only character who looked like their character was probably Princess Yue. But everyone else sucked. Go for the cartoon instead.
I'm going to buy it when it comes out on DVD/Blu-ray. It was hilarious. Best comedy of 2010 so far.
I saw the movie. I thought the it was really cool. I wasn't bothered by the names being pronounced differently. However it is obvious that more movies will be made. I really liked it what they did with the movie. Even though I seen the anime, there was something new being introduced - such as firebending (I don't want to spoil that one for those who haven't seen the movie).
