Does anyone here play?
For those of you who do not know W40K is a tabletop war game. It was designed many years ago but has some really cool back story. Humanity has spread to the stars and found space an unwelcome threat. To combat the enemies of man a human developed psychic abilities that rivaled the gods and forged an empire. Now his warriors must defend his planets from hostile forces. The lots and lots of races too.
The Space Marines are humans on the Ultimate Steroid and the giant defenders of humanity backed up by their religious Sisters of Battle, and the massive numbers of the Imperial Guard.
Their enemies range from the fungal and stupid Orc's, the ancient and mysterious Eldar, the demon worshiping human traitors called The Chaos Space Marines, the young but advanced Tau, the self serving pirates of the Dark Eldar, the soul hungry robot zombies called the Necron, and the ultimate furry race, The Tyranids. (My personal favorite)
So who would you play with?
I ALMOST got into this, but i dont have the money, FOR THE EMPEROR! yay for space marines XD the closest i have been is Dawn Of War 40K for PC, and i have played a few cardboard games XD
I used to play IG, but haven't played in ages. Never really got seriously into it because of the cost.
That was one fun hobby but it was one of the most expensive I was ever into. I played Tao because I loved their mecha and other troops. Just the look of them and their long range abilities. I believe I still have a 1250 pt. size army still but I haven't played in forever. I also had a lot of fun playing the Dawn of War game for PC. Lost my copy of it those a while back...I miss that game.
i no longer play warhammer 40k, i used to, remember Chi? lol/

I can still play. I still enjoy playing too but I won't buy any more.
I used to play this about 10 years ago.
I lost my armies so I had to stop (Blood Angels and Chaose Space marines <including the old noise marines> as well as Brettons from the fantasy WH)
Ive been really tempted to get back into this but I dont know anyone to play with really.

I played. Stoped around 2 years ago or so. Have a massive eldar army then got into Necrons. Went to england so I got massive ammounts of troops for near to no money. Got 2 monolyths for around $80ish instead of $250.
Stopped now.
I used to play, but stopped. Now my younger brother has my stuff, but he doesn't use it, so i might be able to borrow it from him if anyone wants to play.
Hmm maybe we should try adding 40K to games night? Do enough people on here go to games night? Does Rat have a table that could support it?
I play, I have both a Tyranids and Eldar army... They're both not finished being painted yet but they're playable!
Yay! Another Nid Player!! Maybe we could chat sometime? I don't have much experience since i have not built my army up but I did buy Space Hulk and have my first two victories under my belt from that XD

I just picked up the starter box (haven't played this since 3rd edition), the one with space marines and orks.
I'll be getting back into the groove of it again soon hopefully
Its is good to see other people interested in 40K i my self collect space marines but i collect a chapter the few players unless there like 8 year veterens have even hear of...The Executioners, i mainly collect them because i like the blue tiger stripe paint scheme...i also collect make some warhammer fan stuff like these airsoft guns, you will recognize the Las-Gun to be a modded G36C but the space marine bolter is all home made.
You know it's funny I just got home from a buddies place and we had a quick combat patrol, he played his Necrons and I played Daemons xD Then I jumped on my computer (not literally though!) and started browsing through the gaming threads here and low and behold I find this thread!
We are both always looking to go into Vancouver to play with new people! My army is kind of small right now it peaks at 600 points with all the demonic gifts I can , but I am slowly working on adding to it. Hopefully in the new year I will be getting 30 Pink Horrors of Tzeentch and 17 metal Bloodletters to add to my troop choices. ^^
I love 40k! I have a space marine army , daemon hunters as well! Grey knight terminators. Currently working on modding marneus calgar into a tech marine with terminator armor conversion beam! =)
Had an Imperial Guard army (course I had to pick the most human army I can find but later found out there only good in numbers as I can house the biggest army on the field)
was a very expensive hobby and didn't actually play the board game as much as I thought I would I might get into it again but it would be space marines but I doubt I would such an expensive hobby unfortunately I lost my Imperial Guard and a number of other things while on a bad move (still not too happy about that but much too late to do anything about it) so would have to hit up a gamesworkshop if I were to get into it again
