Hey, I know the feeling.  I don't stick my head out much either, mostly out of shyness and an ingrained tendency to try to avoid notice XD
Kamloops?  I haven't been up there in ages... I kind of envy you, living in Vancouver is a bit hectic.  Especially for those of us who hate crowds.
