Hi folks!
You can call me Coda. I'm moving up from Portland, OR, to start an MFA in creative writing at UBC, and I'm excited to get involved in the community, and to get to know the city! I'm an artist, fursuit maker, and former marine biologist who loves the outdoors, scuba/free diving, snowboarding, playing guitar, and cooking/eating delicious food. If these are things you like too, then let's talk! ;D
Welcome. I too am into fursuiting and appreciating furry art, though I'm not much of a maker.
I like the outdoors, in fact I'm going to Surfur this weekend.
Heya Coda! I think I've seen you already pop up in the BCFurries Telegram group chat. Welcome to the forums!
I'm quite interested in the topics of sea life and scuba diving as well. I'm actually currently listening to an audiobook called "The Last Dive" and it's been a pretty great listen so far. Might be worth checking that book out, as you might like it too :)
Ooh, will do, thanks! Do you dive? I need to find people to go with so I don't die!
Man, I wish I was going to surfur, but I couldn't swing it this year. Definitely next year though!
I unfortunately do not dive. I had one lesson in the pool to see what it's like, and it became apparent very quickly that I basically don't retain body heat well enough for diving to be enjoyable. Hopefully it gets better once i get older, since I really do want to properly dive with the fishies!
A good wetsuit (or even a drysuit) is super important!! I get cold more easily than pretty much anyone I know, but I've survived so far!
