: Moving to the area soon.

Hi everyone!

I'll be moving to Victoria very soon from the US for a job, and wanted to see what groups/events are in the area!  I've been a part of the local group at my current location (Maryland) for about a year and a half now and am a little sad to see it go, but am hopeful that there's something similar in Victoria.

I have an obsession for coffee (mostly espresso/milk based drinks), computers (administration and programming), foxes (yes obviously), and my pet cat x3

Even if there isn't a super organized group, I'd still be interested in meeting up with local furs to learn about the area or just organize a little outing.  It was pretty common for the group in Maryland to go rollerblading or watch a movie together for example.

Hopefully we can pull something together and have a good time!

I used to live in Maryland, but that was 5-10 years ago, so there would have been no overlap for us in that local community.  Jobs sometimes do a great job of moving people around, but for me it put me in the Lower Mainland instead of on the Island.

Heya Luma! Welcome to the BCFurries forums :)

I'm not too familiar with how the Victoria events are run, but I believe some are organized through the dedicated Telegram group chats and Facebook groups. I don't really know about the whole Facebook aspect so you'd have to ask someone else, but if you haven't already, I'd suggest you might want to join:

The Vancouver Island Telegram Group Chat:
https://t.me/joinchat/AAAAAD9cC5uYRqHhtbLkVQ

The BCFurries General Telegram Group Chat:
https://t.me/bcfurries
(there are plenty of island furs here too)

The BC Furry Telegram Events Notification Channel:
https://t.me/bcfurryevents
(we're slowly starting to integrate events throughout BC rather than just the Greater Vancouver area)

You can always check the BCFurries forums for any island events as well. Also, if you want to organize your own event & want to make sure it's broadcasted, don't be afraid to contact me. Hope this helps!
