Most of you are too young to know of or remember this epic documentary series that came out in the mid 1970's.  It was commissioned by Thames Television and took 4 years to research and produce.  There were 26 episodes that covered 15 major campaigns and 11 additional "side topics" about World War 2.  The series was premiered in 1973 in Britain on ITV, created by Jeremy Isaacs, Narrated by Lawrence Olivier with an excellent musical score by Carl Davis. The opening music is arguably one of the best documentary openings of all time due to its haunting moody darkness. Not to mention the clever use of photos that burn away to reveal the next one underneath. It culminates in a dark disturbing looking photo of a person that looks like a skull.

Since it is Remembrance/Armistice Day I found the appropriate Episode that is called "Remember"

The first 5 minutes are very powerful, the entire episode runs for about 50 minutes.
