I don't know how to wash the suit it's self as I've never tried but I have lots of regular fur clothing and while it's fake I wash it the same as I would my cats. I usually hand wash them in the sink (the clothes XD) or tub depending on what it is. Then I'll use a very mild shampoo or mild detergent and put very little, maybe like a spoonful. Make sure to wash only in cold too and lightly swish it around. Don't forget to rinse. After you always hang it to dry and brush it back to it's fluffyness with one of those wire cat brushes but do it very softly.
I'm actually working on a video on how to wash fake fur. XD

I wash my suit in the washing machine with cold water and a bit of Woolite: Dark. Double check with your suit maker before putting a suit in a washing machine incase the stitching might be compromised!

To dry, I use my dryer but ONLY ON THE FLUFF-AIR SETTING. This only tumbles the suit with cold air, and gets most of the heavy water weight out.
If you're not sure if your dryer's setting will use hot or cold air, test the fluff-air setting with something else first and see if it's warm when you take it out of the dryer. Never, never use heat to dry a suit or you'll destroy it.
I usually put my suit in for three or four cycles of Fluff Air before letting it hang-dry completely.

Afterwards, to avoid the crunchyness, definitely get a slicker brush to gently comb the fur out. It'll prevent matting and turn the fur soft again :)
You can get a slicker brush at a pet store, they look like this (wire bristles)

I throw mine in the washer, inside out. with regular laundry detergent.

Take it out.

Turn right side out. Shake fluff and hang in the closet.

When it's dry. I spritz on a haze of WD-40 and take a brush like this...

WHY would you spray on a solvent-bearing lubricant onto soluble plastic-based fur?! Literally almost anything else is better.

Hah, probably. But wd-40 dryes without leaving any oily residue, leaves a nice scent, and hardly any fur is pulled out with the brush after vigorous combing. My suit had thick fur, and was slept in and used as blanket and pillow and stuff so it would develop knots, a mist of wd-40 and the knots would loosen apart without pulling out the fur.

I've wondered if NOVUS products would have worked better if combed in, to a polished finish. Never tried it though.
