If you are on Telegram, you are welcome to join a bcfurries chat: https://t.me/bcfurries
Rules:
1. Keep it "Safe For Work" [SFW]. For guidance on what this means, the content must pass both these tests:
a. It must not be likely to cause a problem at a fairly liberal workplace (that doesn't have any problem with being a furry or on your phone in itself). This is more about someone accidentally seeing an image over your shoulder than someone reading through it trying to find offense.
b. It must not be likely to cause a legally serious problem to knowingly expose a 13-year-old to it. There are no age agreements in the group, but we would remove someone less than 13 if we became aware.
2. No personal attacks. "Proposition C-5781 is crazy.", good conversation. "User5781 is crazy.", personal attack, not cool.
a. This includes posting personal information that a user doesn't want to be public ("doxxing"). What constitutes "personal information" is up to the admins and might differ from the legal definition of PII (Personally Identifiable Information). This can include copying a private conversation or from a closed group, EVEN IF you redact the name (there can be hints that can be picked up if it's someone in the community). There might be exceptions if it's in the public interest, but even this is iffy; PM the admins first.
3. Anything that would make the channel unusable isn't allowed. Spambots, anything too fast or complex for Telegram clients, etc. (I can't think of every possibility ahead of time) EDIT: Animated images with large rapid color changes (sometimes called "seizure images") are now not allowed.
4. Except as stated above, topics are not pre-banned. Religion, politics, tech, stickers, etc., are fine. If you have a problem with the content or quantity of someone's posting, anyone can step up and *politely* suggest they cease or take it to another chat. Then the other person can decide whether the request is reasonable or not. If you still can't come to an agreement, contact an admin.
5. Admins are:
@rainrattie
@accophox
@ambybutt
@pawcelot
There is a list of public furry Telegram groups at www.furry-telegram-groups.net
Id really like to see more types of bc chats
As it's been requested, I've set up a separate Fraser Valley-specific SFW chat as a test at:
https://telegram.me/joinchat/CYJjgEA0C5w3aHS1jvSX_w
Same rules apply, but as the BC-wide group is pushing 250+ members, this is meant to be a bit more low-key and for coordinating specific things here in the Valley, for those of us unwilling or unable to continually make the long trek into Metro Vancouver. Larger events will continue to be posted to the forum calendar, of course, and cross-posted to the BC-wide chat where applicable! :)
What about for people who don't have Telegram, or a cellphone? SOL basically I guess xD

While we members of the Legion of the Dead may be publically ostracized and privately scorned for our antiquated ways,
we are also secretly feared above all others, and beyond reproach or reprisal for our adherence to custom, clan and one another.

I would
love it if we were all collectively nerdy enough to go to something like IRC as a group instead, but everyone's addicted to their stickers. ;/ Not to hijack this too much, but, I'll still be posting on here, particularly any of the events I host regardless!
There use to be a Skype chat but I guess that died off and people moved onto Telegram. Just sucks I won't be able to afford a cellphone for ages and keep up with you dudes! But I guess there's the forums. Just more quieter though.
Kai - there are desktop versions of the app (http://"https://desktop.telegram.org")?
You still have to have a cell phone number to register an account with the desktop app, from my understanding, as it sends you a text with a one-time-code for login. :(

Yeah, Silverski was going to help me make an account but that was the only problem. I don't have a cell, lol...
If you put in a landline, they will try to text it. You can either get a Text-voice message, or if that fails they auto call you after a few minutes.

Oh yeah, I have one at home. I'll just have to do it that way! Thank you.
