Somewhat new to Abbotsford, looking to make some friends.
I'm 24 years old, a bit shy at first. Maybe we could catch a movie some time.
Reply below or send me a note.
waves "Hey a local fur"
I'm just across the bridge in Mission now! :p
I'm in Abby as well
woof. I am an Abbotsford fur.
I'm Chilliwack but I'm in Abbotsford once a week for school >.>

Ooh cool! What are you studying?
Just exploring right now, but my main focus is on philosophy and visual arts :3

I do have the space to host fur meets, though i'm not interested in D&D. It would most likely be limited to making some pizzas, playing various board games and watching movies. Aside from the fact that i don't own a tv yet. I do have a spare computer I could set up though. Maybe I can find a decent sized used tv off craigslist.
That would be cool! I'm not really into D&D so. I always encourage to have a variety of things going on at meets x3
I've alluded to it a couple places, but some time potentially next year I may be up for hosting small meets at my place in Mission, as I've got plenty of space for it, and indeed, an older big screen TV as a hand-me-down off my parents.
I have a ton of cleaning/rearranging of furniture and unpacking to do still, though, and my health isn't back to 100% yet.
I think in the meantime while we all figure out meetup space, we all should try to do a meet n'greet at a cafe/restaurant food place? o:
I'm up for that, yeah
I don't work weekends, usually, though this particular one I'm going to be running around picking up my new drumkit (from King's in Abbotsford - family friends) and my PA system from my old band's jam space in New West. I miiiight have more time Sunday, or not this-but-next weekend at least.
Also, having just moved to Mission here in July I'm still learning where everything is. I don't know Abbotsford hangouts that well, but as long as they have coffee... <3
Sadly this Sunday won't for me but my availability to do more things will pick up once the semester is out of the way x3
Depends on the definition of 'evening'. I'm meeting up with my brother on Saturday; he's bringing his wife's pickup truck, we're going to New West to pick up the old PA (BIG speakers; Peavey SP2s + stands + a 5000W Class D amp), and to Abbotsford to pick up an entire drumkit I'm buying. I haven't even decided on the cymbals to go with it, so I've got to spend at least a little bit of time A/Bing those. Got to get it all home, unpack it.. it's gonna be a long, busy day, and I'm kind of loathe to promise a time I can't guarantee with that much stuff to do. Plus I have no idea when my brother will actually be up and make it out here... he's not exactly known for being punctual sometimes.
5PM is probably a no-go. 8PM however might be.
You have a suggestion for a late-night cafe or diner or something then on that side of the river? :P We could probably post it semi-officially on the calendar, too.
Where should we have the meet in abbotsford?
As annoying as it is to be That Guy(tm), I'm vegan for health reasons - any particular places? I could check out their menus online and then I know what I can nibble on. :p
I won't be drinking either - driving and I'm on meds for another couple months, so if anyone's coming from out Mission way or along Hwy 11 I may be able to pick them up!
Ooh! I do love both; I've been to a Wok Box before so I know for sure I can eat there, plus that does look a bit more casual. They're open 'till 8PM according to their site, so we'd have to aim for say 6PM at the latest - I *might* be able to pull that off this weekend, if not this then next for sure.
What does everyone else think?
Also, I am apparently now acting as unofficial liaison between here and the Facebook group. Some of them are meh on the forums, and I know a lot of you are meh on Facebook, but as long as no one is meh with each other... ;p
Calling it now: No Drama Allowed(tm), 'kay?
Hi, abbotsford fur also :)
I don't think I could make it to any kind of dinner meet this weekend unfortunately, I work all weekend :(
But I'll keep watch for anything I can go to.
I have some friends, that aren't on the forum, that'd be interested too
Been coordinating with the FB group - it turns out someone there is super allergic to shellfish - anaphylaxis, Epipens, the whole shebang, so they're leery of Wok Box. They seemed interested in the Indian place as a potential alternative, or if rather than it being a dinner meet, we hit up a cafe or something instead?
I will be sitting out of this one just to get some school work done over the wekeend. Hopefully it turns out well! :)
I'd be up for a cafe meet!
Yeah, with it being ~6PM ish people are asking dinner, too. :p
So we have a vegan (me), someone with a shellfish allergy... hmm. Pita Pit? :O
which pita pit though
... the fact that Abbotsford even has two blows my mind. :O
South Fraser Way! (https://goo.gl/maps/bjwvi2Lj8MH2) I guess it's by the mall? Saturday, 6PM.
Yes they put a new one near high street
Sorry I couldn't make it, how did it go?
It was fun! Probably about 11-12 of us. Had pitas, walked over and some of them got frozen yogurt, went back to someone's apartment and hung out there 'till 10-11ish. More stuff coming. ^.^
Cool, can we get notifications here for that? I'd prefer on here vs. facebook
Yup! Once it's nailed down - I'm trying to be the go-between here, but there's talk of a potluck on Dec 12th or 19th. People seem split between the two dates so far.
Also someone trying to plan a monthly/bi-monthly hike, just gauging interest so far - looks like potentially ~4-5 people.
Where's the potluck going to take place?
probably wouldn't attend the hike, don't have any outdoorsy equipment
Very likely the same apartment we went to Saturday night, as a couple of them live in the same building but the next floor up, but I haven't ruled out offering my place here in Mission as a bigger alternative if I can get it cleaned in time.
I'd probably need help then, there's three apartments in that area and I don't want to go wandering around looking like a creep
what is?
Looks like the potluck is on the 11th :3
Hey all! Figured I'd join this thread instead of creating my own. I'm new to Abby as well and looking to meet some new friends in the area. I'll probably be busy for the rest of the month but would love to hang in the new year.
I'm a 24yr old brony and light furry. Pretty much open to doing anything, not a big out doorsy guy but open to anything :)
Welcome ^^ It's nice to meet another local who likes MLP
Thanks :)! I read that there was a Facebook group? Is it just for Abbotsford furries or BC furries? Cause I didn't see one for the Abby area.
Yeah, but it's a private one. I prefer on here compared to facebook TBH
so what do you do for fun?
Ok cool well that makes things easier lol.
Currently, I mainly PC game. Games like Civ, Rocket League, Witcher, ect. Also have played a decent amount of board games with a sprinkling of DnD. Some weekends I go up to Van to visit a small group of non furry friends who I'll usually just watch movies with and have a few drinks/vape.
I've also paintballed a few times. Been thinking about getting into that cause it seems like a fun sport to get into and I could probably stand to get some cardio in my life lol.
Oooh, nice ^^ Do you have steam?
If so add me on there, Mosesj :3

Welcome welcome! There is a semi-private Abby fur group on FB (you can PM me for more details) otherwise its just here :P
:) cool will do Jojo! You can find me as WinterTundra on steam as well.
I'm in aldergrove and I'm carving heads if that interests you at all
I guess I just reply on this one instead open a new one LOL.
Just saying hi.
I have already been in Abby for 1 year but just found this site through FA. So, pretty much still new here. Hope I can make some friends here.
Music, movies, video games, hiking (or just enjoy the nature, but don't quite have the chance recently. Canada is a beautiful place and it's totally a waste if you don't go outside of the city).
I wanna add cooking within because when I got Canada I have to cook to feed myself, but basically I just follow the recipe online and I quite enjoy doing that. LOL

I used to be so active before I started working out in Langley. Doesn't help that 90% of my time is spent at a desk. On that note, I really enjoy biking and skiing, but I've barely done anything active for the past year. I also like going for hikes. We should get together some time and go for a hike, maybe with some others too.
Yeah, after the winter semester begins I don't really have time to do those staffs too. Although my landlord invite me to go theater with him sometimes. We watched "13 hours" last week.
Meet and greet? I'll check it out
Been super busy to post anything but I live really close to kithop
I'm from Chilliwack, but it's just. Hop, skip and a jump to Abbosford for me :)

is there a group for the Abbosford furs?
There's a Facebook group for the Abbotsford furs, but I've stopped using Facebook and just coordinate with them via texts. I've got the largest place of them, it seems, so by default it looks like I'm the one hosting the meetups & events (like that Halloween one next month).
I don't think enough of them are on Telegram to justify a specific group, even if we said 'Fraser Valley', but I'll text Tehbet and ask if they'd use one if I made it.
Hey! I'm in west Abby... Just getting connected with the group again.. Been about 13 years... :p
