Who would all be interested in a Mutants & Masterminds campaign?
In brief summary, Mutants & Masterminds is like a superhero-themed version of Dungeons & Dragons; a pen-and-paper roleplaying game that uses a variant of the d20 system to allow players to create virtually any type of hero or villain desired.
My personal experience with the game started in university, in the wake of a fun though short-lived Eberron D&D campaign. After several sessions of getting used to the system and play-testing our characters, our group eventually got to playing an enjoyable campaign that lasted uninterrupted for the better part of a full season. Since then, I've wanted to try my hand at running a campaign.
In any case, I'm open to veteran players and newcomers alike, and I'm more than willing to help explain things related to the game if need be.
If you are interested, feel free to let me know what kind of character you're looking to play. I'll even provide the SRD (http://www.d20herosrd.com/) and the Superpower Wiki (http://powerlisting.wikia.com/wiki/Superpower_Wiki) for ease of reference.
I remember looking at the game when it was, I believe, in its second edition and it looked interesting, but I've never actually played it or kept up with the system. Most of my RPG experience has been with GURPS or D&D3.5/Pathfinder.
Before worrying too much about character ideas though I'd like at least an initial idea of the when and how, especially since a look at your profile suggests I'm not exactly in the same area as you are. At least a vague idea of the campaign concept would be nice too.

I will be using 3rd edition Mutants & Masterminds, the latest as of this post.

That's part of the reason why I was asking for a show of hands, actually, and much of it is similar to how the previous campaign I took part in was set up: as a collaborative effort.
- When: I am normally available after 5pm on weekdays and all day on weekends. Beyond that, the scheduled timing for sessions is dependent on when others are available and willing to turn out.
- How: Having participated in a campaign that has featured both physical and distant attendance simultaneously, I'm willing to accommodate the use of conference calling services such as Skype, even though physical attendance is preferred.
- What: The first few sessions will consist of character creation, one-shot episodes for players to play-test their characters, and a session or two of Microscope (http://www.lamemage.com/microscope/) (a worldbuilding RPG) to set the stage for the campaign.

Sounds reasonable enough; hopefully you get a good showing of hands.

I'm pretty much only available on weekends or, starting in a few weeks, Mondays.

I've played in remote, local, and combination campaigns, though admittedly never as a remote person in an otherwise local game.

Again, that sounds reasonable and hopefully helps make sure everyone knows how the mechanics for their characters work. I'm not at all familiar with Microscope, but what description the site gives makes it sound like it could be interesting as well.
