BC Furries

On March 4th, 2016, Disney will be releasing their 55th full-length animated feature film.  Like previous films in their eclectic canon, including Robin Hood and The Lion King, Zootopia will feature an all-anthropomorphic cast, but this time the furry characters will be living in a modern animal-designed world.  Two years ago, the first release of concept art prompted a wave of fanart from the furry community.  Today, the first official portrait of the film's characters emerged along with a detailed synopsis of the plot.

Author's Commentary:

I have been waiting for this film ever since Skuff Coyote got me hooked on the countdown back in 2013. Honestly, how much better can this be for us?  Expectations for the film are undoubtedly high.  One can only imagine that around the time pf this film's release the Disney parks will be chock full of new furcharacters.  Although the first quarter of any given year is not typically reserved for big films, next March is shaping up to be a big month, with other major releases around the time including Kung-Fu Panda 3, Deadpool, Ben-Hur, Monster Trucks and Batman v. Superman.  Along with The Nut Job 2 and Sly Cooper, 2016 is going to be a very furry year in film indeed.

PS: The release is an easy enough day to remember because it happens to land smack dab in the middle of VancouFur 2016!  Who wants to go see the film during the convention weekend?

This movie comes out the second day of Vancoufur, by the way.

The bun is adorable ^~^ and the giraffe girl at the end of the huge hoard is confirmed for my waifu, I'm calling this a year before this even comes out.

Ditto! There's already a Sly movie coming out next year and when I heard that a year and a half ago I thought it was the perfect time to commission a fursuit of my character.

omg i just heard about this at work, wasnt quite sure what i thought about it but it looks really interesting and actually decent. ah, a world without humans, even that is something that would be so fascinating as a documentary, let alone an actual animal movie. the fox is super cute, i love me some fox, hehe. :)

I hate this movie. In concept, marketing and design. The concept for an all animal world that we've never seen before? Kung Fu Panda, Robin Hood, etc. While non take place in modern times who cares if they take selfies or not?

Marketing for the same reason as above. Not original or unique. And that brings me to...

Designs. OHMYGOD. REALLY?! Another f*cking fox!? A RED FOX?! Disney has done 4 Fox characters now, all red foxes, and all but 1 (at least, I haven't really seen Fox and the Hound) were 'sneaky' or 'conniving' or whatever. I hate this so much but I know it'll succeed and I know this movie will never go away.

(IF you watch the teaser you can see a wolf in the background of the crowd. THAT design is cool.)

I'll throw my money at Kung Fu Panda until we get the 4 more movies we've been promised ;3

Be advised:

Because of recent experience with stormtroopers denied access to see the Star Wars film in full costume, Fursuits will NOT be allowed at Zootopia screenings because the national Cineplex policy is "No face masks, even near theater property." Even if it's for a photo op, they'll say no and escort you off the property. This is an OUTRIGHT BAN on anything covering your entire face, including fursuits. (Which is identical to most Mall policies)

So you have to go to Zootopia with short tails, armsleeves, (some) handpaws and ears only. (long tails and feetpaws can be interpreted a tripping hazard)

Why? Aurora, Colorado.

Watched it a 2nd time today. If you know what to look for, you can see how they hinted at said things perfectly for people's 2nd viewing.

I have a problem. Saw it a third time today. I swear this is the last time while it's still in theaters.
